Arizona Leads In Auto Glass Replacements Per Phoenix, Arizona
It all mainly comes down to our landscaping, but that's not the only reason. "And once a crack obstructs a driver's view, by law you have to replace it." Here's an oldie but goodie. Check out Phoenix's Fox10 for the story:
This is an image of the dumpster at one of our auto glass distributors. This is where we dump our glass, "for free," right before picking up our automotive glass for the day. Don't be fooled by auto glass shops that insist on a disposal fee.
Mercedes Rear View Mirror Reattachment Fail From Previous Auto Glass Shop
This is just a note to self...and everyone else out there. When you have a hard time pulling the plastic case housing from a Mercedes rear view mirror and you see the image below, you might want to choose a different shop next time, Yes, what you see holding together this plastic was both windshield glue and double-sided sticky tape. FYI. If you find a trustworthy shop, stick with them!
2005 Cadillac XLR Windshield Replacement in Phoenix, AZ
In my few years of doing windshield replacements, this is only the second Cadillac XLR I have come across. Although somewhat tedious to prep for a windshield installation, they're not at all that difficult to do. Below are a couple of images of the windshield removed, exposing the glue from the previous installation.
To the left you can clearly see that this customer may have had some severe wind noise in the passenger corner. How this is even possible I'm not quite sure, unless they ran their glue directly onto the windshield, then set the windshield in.
The image to the right probably allowed a high pitched whistle, since there is empty space underneath where the two points meet. In either case, running your bead directly on top of the existing factory bead after it is trimmed out is the way to go, with as few seams as possible, checking to make sure there are no holes in your seams, and as straight as possible.
