2005-Cadillac-XLR-Replacing A Windshield In Phoenix ArizonaIn my few years of doing windshield replacements, this is only the second Cadillac XLR I have come across. Although somewhat tedious to prep for a windshield installation, they’re not at all that difficult to do. Below are a couple of images of the windshield removed, exposing the glue from the previous installation.
Cadillac XLR Previous Windshield Install Failure1To the left you can clearly see that this customer may have had some severe wind noise in the passenger corner. How this is even possible I’m not quite sure, unless they ran their glue directly onto the windshield, then set the windshield in.

In either case, running your bead directly on top of the existing factory bead after it is trimmed out is the way to go, with as few seams as possible, checking to make sure there are no holes in your seams, and as straight as possible.
