Removing the Damaged Kia Sportage Roof Glass
The original roof glass was badly damaged and separating along the edge. Before installing the replacement, the broken glass had to be carefully removed from the opening.
Loose glass was broken away and vacuumed as we worked around the opening. Glass still bonded to the existing urethane was then removed so the mounting surface could be properly prepared.
Preparing the Roof for New Glass
After the damaged glass was removed, the remaining urethane was trimmed and the entire opening was cleaned and vacuumed.
Proper preparation here is important because the new roof glass needs a clean, correctly prepared bonding surface before fresh automotive urethane is applied.
Installing the New OEM Kia Roof Glass
Fresh automotive urethane was applied and the new OEM roof glass was carefully positioned into the opening.
The location of this panel — directly between the windshield and panoramic roof — makes accurate placement especially important.
Completed 2023 Kia Sportage Roof Glass Replacement
The finished installation restores the fixed roof-glass section and maintains the original appearance of the Kia Sportage panoramic roof system.
