The original roof glass was badly damaged and separating along the edge. We carefully removed the loose glass while vacuuming debris from the vehicle. Glass still bonded to the existing urethane was then removed from around the opening.
Tempered Kia Sportage Roof Glass Cleanup
After removing the damaged panel, we trimmed the remaining urethane and thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed the opening. Correct preparation provides a clean, stable bonding surface for the fresh automotive urethane used to secure the replacement glass.
Preparing the Roof for New Glass
After the damaged glass was removed, the remaining urethane was trimmed and the entire opening was cleaned and vacuumed.

Fresh automotive urethane was applied before the new OEM Kia roof glass was carefully positioned in the opening. Accurate placement was especially important because this fixed panel sits directly between the windshield and panoramic roof glass.
